Differences between fluorescent lamps and LED lamps

Luminous efficiency, lamp efficiency, power efficiency, life, luminous principle and light color generation principle are different.

The luminous efficiency of fluorescent lamps is about 55-80 lm/W, while that of LED is 100 lm/W. Lamp efficiency basically refers to the effective light effect, because fluorescent lamps emit 360° light, while light emitted in the opposite direction is useless.

Because lamps and lamps need to be equipped with special power supply outside incandescent lamps, the efficiency of power supply will also affect the efficiency of the whole lamp and lamp.

A well-designed LED fluorescent lamp can last for 50,000 hours. Fluorescent lamps usually have a life span of less than 20,000 hours.

Characteristics of fluorescent lamps

Universal CFLS is a light source with similar size but has higher efficiency than incandescent lamp, which can replace incandescent lamp, including compact fluorescent lamp, self-ballasted compact fluorescent lamp, LED bulb and so on. In a narrow sense, CFLS refers to various types of modulator tubes and double-needle built-in lamps represented by Philips PL series. With the development of electronic ballast technology, CFLS in the narrow sense in the 21st century refers more to self-ballasted compact fluorescent lamps.
